Component 3 Project - Recce report: Parking Lot | Blog Post #11 - #13

The first time I saw this space, I knew that I wanted to film a chasing scene right at this location. The way the parking slots are arranged creates a perfect scenery for a creepy chasing scene. And so I also kept this location in mind while writing the screenplay for “Mind Chase”.

There are a lot of filming possibilities here, I can utilise the space and have many different angles of the action. However, we would have to make sure that there are no cars around when we do this. It won’t be a problem though because it isn’t busy during a few time periods which is when I can film there.

This is another ambitious scene and I would need help from at least 2 other people. One to hold the camera and the other to push the cameraman to create a perfect tracking shot.

I will use the natural lighting available here which sets the perfect tone that I’m aiming for. There aren’t many shots here but it would require probably at least an hour to cover all the angles as well as the tracking shots.

For the tracking shot, I will use a trolley that I have to have the cameraman sit on the trolley and be pushed to shoot the scene. I might need a gimbal to make it even smoother. For the different angles, I would need to use multiple tripods which I have.

As far as I know, I don’t need to have permission to film here.
