Roles in your production | Blog Post #9

Who's doing what in your project?

I decided that I wanted to do the project on my own because I want to have complete control over the creative, technical and every decision made so that I can bring my ideas to life, which means that I will be fulfilling every role available.

However, this does not mean I’m doing everything independently. I have a semi-teammate who’s also doing an individual project, Mai. She is helping me with making decisions when I need a second opinion. She’s also helping me film a few scenes where I can’t film myself. As well as a friend of mine, Khanh Linh, will help me film a few scenes as well. My family is helping me out a lot as well with asking for permission to film at the pool location as well as setting things up and getting me there.

It is a bit risky to work on such a project alone, I would have more work than others but I think that the decision to have full control over the film is for the better. So I’m the screenwriter, storyboard creator, director, producer, camera person, actor, editor, set designer, costume, cinematographer, prop master, and sound. Mai and Khanh Linh will be the camera persons in some scenes.
